How can I connect a Siemens phone?

Siemens provides a wide range of IP-telephony phones that can be connected to Sonetel for making and receiving calls. Many of them are provided under the Gigaset brand.

How to connect a Siemens phone to Sonetel

Open the phone's web interface by entering its IP address on your PC's browser. If the IP address is not known then enter http://www.gigaset-config.com or http://www.gigaset-device.com
Enter the device's PIN
Go to Settings > Telephony > Connections
1. Under Personal Provider Data enter the following settings:
  1. Authentication name: Enter the first part of the user's email address. If the email address is your.name@mycompany.com - simply enter your.name
  2. Authentication Password: Enter the user's Sonetel password
  3. User name: Same as Authentication name
2. UnderGeneral Provider Data enter the following:
  1. Domain : Enter the 2nd part of the user's email address. If user is your.name@mycompany.com - simply enter mycompany.com
  2. Proxy server address : Enter sip.sonetel.com
  3. Proxy server port : 5060
  4. Registrar server : sip.sonetel.com
  5. Registrar server port : 5060
  6. Registration refresh time : Default value of 180 seconds is fine.
3. Under Network enter the following:
  1. STUN enabled : Yes
  2. STUN server : stun.sonetel.com
  3. STUN port : Default value of 3478 is fine.
  4. Outbound Proxy mode : Always
  5. Outbound proxy : sip.sonetel.com
  6. Outbound proxy port : 5060
