How can I connect a Zoiper phone?

Zoiper is a free softphone for Windows, Mac OS and Linux, available in more than 10 different languages that can be downloaded here.
You can use it  for making and receiving calls with Sonetel.

Instructions for connecting a Zoiper phone to Sonetel

• Go to Settings and create a new account

 

 

 

 

 

 

• Select SIP in the Account wizard.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• In the next screen enter the email address & password you use to sign in to your Sonetel account. Also enter sip.sonetel.com as the Outbound proxy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• Click on Next and in the next screen check Skip auto-detection.
• Now, go to Settings > Preferences and enter the Auth. username. This should be the same as your Username as shown below (i.e. the first part of your email address):

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• Click on the Advanced tab and ensure Use rport is checked. Also, enter the STUN server details as shown:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• Click on OK to save the settings and you should get registered:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Troubleshooting

• If you don’t get registered right away, open the Preferences and first click on Unregister and then on Register.
• If you’re unable to hear anything while making calls go to Settings > Preferences and in the Advanced tab, enable rport media.
