A virtual phone number is a regular local phone number that isn’t connected to any physical phone or SIM-card by the phone company.
If you have a virtual number, you will be able to answer incoming calls with an app across the Internet. You can also forward incoming calls to any mobile number or landline of choice worldwide.
Calls from virtual phone numbers can be made from anywhere worldwide.

To get a free virtual phone number, follow these steps:
- Select a “Free for website” number in Sonetel sign up.
- Sign up and create a free account.
- Add the free Sonetel customer chat function to your website by adding the free WordPress plugin or by adding the code snippet.
The phone number is now yours for free, as long as you also use the free chat function at your website.
You can answer calls for free with the free apps or forward calls to a mobile number at the cost of local calls.
