Calling Line Identity (CLI)

Calling Line Identity or CLI is the number shown on screen to a person answering a call. CLI is the number (or name) of the caller.

When you answer a call, you will usually see the number of the caller. This is the CLI.

 

 

Known under many acronyms

Calling Line Identity (CLI, CLID) is variously known by many similar terms, such as Caller Identity, CID, calling line identification , calling number delivery (CND), calling number identification (CNID), calling line identification presentation (CLIP), and call display.
