September 13th – Disconnection of phone numbers from Shanghai

01:51 PM UTC. Following an investigation by law enforcement authorities in China on fraudulent activities undertaken by the user of one specific number in Shanghai, authorities have asked our local carrier in China to disconnect a full range of numbers until further notice.

Even though the misuse was not done by a Sonetel customer and our carrier has been fully cooperating with the the authorities, all Shanghai numbers have been disconnected for now. Our carrier is following up with the Chinese authorities to see if the numbers can be restored.
