December 22nd – AWS problems cause service disruption
12:11 PM UTC. Issues detected with the services. We are investigating the root cause.
1:13 PM UTC. The issue is identified to be caused by a core database. This is causing issues for all services (telephony and chat). The team is working on getting the database operational.
1:30 PM UTC. The issue is found to be caused by the infrastructure, which we run the database on. The provider (AWS) is investigating the issue. Multiple instances (servers run by AWS) went down at the same time.
1:50 PM UTC. The team is still working with AWS to resolve the issue.
1:56 PM UTC. The database is active again. Services are operational. We will do further investigations regarding the root cause, and see what actions we can take to prevent this from occurring again. We apologize sincerely for the problems this disturbance may have caused your business.
3:00 PM UTC There are reports that the AWS issue impacted many services and that it was caused by a power outage at one of their centers.
